The Calyx is occasionally closed for private access. The garden party features entertainment through the night, free-flowing drinks and food. It features an exhibition room and learnign centre, a display courtyard and a tiny island surrounded by a circular walkway with pergola. Boasting stunning architecture, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest green wall, a light Asian fusion menu by day and a stunning event space by night. When I went they had an incredible exhibit of carnivorous plants. The exhibit was really well put together and was free to visit. An integrated mix of indoor and outdoor areas, the Calyx plays host to different exhibitions throughout the year.

Sydney Tower is reflected in the surrounding pond. It lives in the Royal Botanic Garden and is well cared for by its staff. There are educational signs on the flora that lies within it. The work involved construction of a new entertainment and display facility and integration to an existing ARC glasshouse which was also totally refurbished as part of the program. For a garden lover there seemed no better setting than a garden which stands at metres tall, covers metres of wall and contains 10odd flowers.

A wonderful setting for a special high tea experience in Sydney , and it’s accessible. A ‘Jewel in the Garden’ the Calyx is a fusion of Art, theatre, and Flora in Sydney’s Royal Botanical Gardens. Pollination is a FREE display, curated by The Gardens horticultural team, featuring a large collection of plants and flowers showcasing the role colour plays during pollination.
