What does white smoke from motorcycle exhaust mean? Why is there white smoke coming out of my exhaust? There is no room for overlooking the white smoke issue. Not only white smoke affected other vehicles, it also means your car is in trouble that needs special attention. In this case, bad seals or piston rings cause oil to leak into combustion chamber which then mixes with fuel and burns.
The result is a white or light bluish smoke that comes out from exhaust manifold. Once that happens, the oil will become contaminated. The first sign of having contaminated oil is white exhaust smoke coming out of the tailpipe. As this continues, the white smoke will begin to have a sweet odor smell that won’t go away. Especially in a humid environment.
I guess a lot of moisture gets inside the exhaust. If white smoke continues to come out of your exhaust while the car is running, there are other issues at fault. One cause of white smoke from the exhaust might be the engine leaking coolant. If the engine leaks coolant, it will be burned by the heat of the engine and then come out as smoke from the exhaust. If it is below degrees Fahrenheit, then white smoke is perfectly normal until the engine warms up.
If it continues after the engine is warm, then there is a source of excess water somewhere in the engine.
