Auburn garden cherry blossom

Auburn Cherry Blossom Festival This was the first time we had visited the gardens st Auburn. The Auburn Botanical Gardens hosts the Cherry Blossom Festival each August. In Japanese culture, the cherry blossom symbolises the fragility of life and its beauty.

The festival focuses on the Japanese Culture and old and modern Traditions. Auburn Botanic Gardens is one of the most popular places in Sydney to view beautiful cherry blossoms. The Japanese Sakura ( Cherry Blossoms ) bloom for a brief two week period and are expected to attract over 20people. Set against the made-for-Instagram canvas of blooming Cherry Blossoms, the Festival is a giddy day.

Take photos under a sky of pink, snack on Japanese foo beat a drum and watch sumo wrestling. Plus lots more, including kids activities! The garden in Auburn is always good for a stroll or picnic if you are in the area. There’s even an animal exhibit to see, and food stalls to visit so there’s plenty to do for everyone. But in August, it is well worth a visit to see the cherry blossoms.

This year the festival is between 17th to 26th August. The paths are wide, well maintained and clean. To celebrate this annual attraction, Auburn City Council has created a fantastic Japanese cultural programme. Tis the season, after all. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival is held in the Japanese Gardens between mid August and early September.

It is absolutely beautiful to experience the Japanese Gardens when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Aside from the gardens themselves and the beautiful blooms there is a lot going on at the gardens relating to Japanese Culture. You can get your tickets at this link. Tickets for residents of Cumberland Council and children under are free. During the August period is the special time to view cherry blossom here.

There is free shuttle bus u can catch from Auburn train station. We were anticipating a large number of visitors so we arrived early, about 8am, just to make sure we have a parking space. It’s spring time here in Sydney! While waiting for the garden to open, we first had our breakfast at the park. Avoid the weekends as it can be very crowded and busy.

Outside these hours, it is free for Auburn residents and kids under 16yrs. For everyone else, it is $on weekends and during the school holidays. And then it is $during the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Situated only kilometres from the Sydney CB the site features an incredible Japanese Garden , a fauna reserve, sunken rose garden , scented garden , a reflection pool and an Equal Access Playground. We have covered some family friendly attractions for you at this great local location. While the gardens themselves are small but nice, they harbor only a small number of cherry trees concentrated in two small avenues, and the total view is not impressive. The Cherry Blossom Festival takes place at the end of August but the trees are still absolutely breathtaking through September so hurry to see them.

Themes include Hanami, Garden Day, Kids Day, Serenity, Seniors Day and Let’s Japan. Visitors gather for flower viewing at Shinjuku Gyoen national garden in Tokyo as cherry blossom flowers are at full bloom on Monday. These flowers only last about a week, but people are flocking.
