There are two lakes, a waterfall and bridges. Duck River winds through the garden. The garden is maintained by Cumberland Council. It is open daily, and there is a small entry fee on weekends. They are just over 7km south-east of Parramatta CBD.
Having an abundance of plants and animals, the Garden is sure to please the nature lover in you. Amsterdam has a wide variety of parks within the city limits. The parks offer respite from the hustle and bustle of the city and range from small green areas planted with trees and flowers, to large parks with amusements picnic areas, sports facilities, water features, hiking trails and paths for cyclists.
Wander the paths, admire the plants and visit the native animals in the reserve. Still a fairly nice park but could do with an injection of more plants and looking a bit shabby in places. Lacks some more native fauna and flowers. Perhaps some native bees. There should be flowers all year round preferably native.

Families and tourists enjoy the picnic and barbecue areas throughout the week, but even on busy days, quiet corners can be found. It only feels like stealing, but trust us, it’s totally above board.
In which, the end of August of every year the Festival of the Cherry Blossom is celebrated. When you pass the entrance of the gardens, a totally different environment from the metropolis welcomes you! With free entry during the week days, the Gardens are a fabulous find. While the gardens themselves are small but nice, they harbor only a small number of cherry trees concentrated in two small avenues, and the total view is not impressive.
