White smoke after idling

This will cause white smoke , along with the idle issue. In many cases, white smoke emanating from the tailpipe (often at idle once the engine reached operating temperature) typically means a worn out injector. Now this isn’t always the case, but after some trouble shooting we’re usually the go-to shop when diesel drivers need refurbishe rebuilt, or new injectors.

The most noticeable symptom of internal coolant leakage is when the white smoke is billowing out of the exhaust pipe and leaves a sweet odor in the air. Sounds like injectors, or an outside chance at head gaskets leaking water. But injectors usually only cause the white haze when the engine is cold (its basically a near lack of combustion). BIG PUFF Of white smoke will go out fromt the exhaust and then when i turn on the AC the car will smoke at idle ? It happens when I push the gas the first time after the idle session.

Have you checked your tank and fuel lines for contamination or blockages. A fuel line leaking air will cause white smoke. This smoke does not appear while driving normally, at hig. It does not smoke at startup.

Another thing that is odd. Sometimes at start up my truck will smoke some (cold or warm days), but not always, and if it smokes it has a funny odor, not like the normal diesel exhaust smell. I also will let my truck idle for extended lengths of time.

Sometimes after a while (an hour or two of idleing), it will start white smoking like crazy. L Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) engine may exhibit blue or white smoke from the exhaust while driving after extended idle. Normally this is a sign of a blown head gasket or cracked head. Pulled over to side of the road to inspect. No CEL’s, warnings, power loss, etc and it went away after about a mile.

White smoke after idling

What is the best way to go about taking care of it? It smells like burning oil. I have new plugs and wires and tps. Two Stroke per gallon of diesel.

At first it would only smoke a little occasionally while sitting at idle for 5-10min. This has happed a handful of times before. White smoke while idling White smoke while idling is normally reason to believe that your BMW may need the valve stems replace however this can also be the sign of bad Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) gaskets.

On top of those possibilities, there are many things. If I drive around a bit then stop and idle , after a few minutes I start getting HUGE amounts of white smoke out the exhaust. Not every time, though. Within 0miles it progressed from a litte bit to a really embarassing amount of smoke. First week driving it was fine.

Sent it in for a service. If smoke is being release then this is indicative of a problem. HOWTO looks at all the possible reasons why white smoke is coming from your exhaust pipe.

Is your engine using oil? Any help on what may be causing this and what the.
