White smoke out of exhaust pipe

What does white smoke from motorcycle exhaust mean? What causes smoke to come from the exhaust pipe? What can cause white smoke to come out of exhaust? Why is white smoke coming out of my cars tail pipes?

White smoke out of exhaust pipe

White smoke can be a big problem or not, depending on the thickness. The white smoke is the result of normal condensation which builds up inside the exhaust system. If you the white smoke consistently comes out and the sweet odor smell is present, then it is definitely a problem with your coolant leaking.

The good news is, not all white smoke signals problems in your car, as some can be due to normal condensation too. A rule of thumb though is the thicker the white smoke , the greater is your problem. You can taste on the water from the exhaust , if it smells sweet it’s most likely coolant, and in this case, you have a bigger problem. Once that happens, the oil will become contaminated. The first sign of having contaminated oil is white exhaust smoke coming out of the tailpipe.

As this continues, the white smoke will begin to have a sweet odor smell that won’t go away. Condensation can turn to vapor, providing what looks like white exhaust. But excessive white smoke likely means coolant is leaking into the engine combustion chambers. If white smoke continues to come out of your exhaust while the car is running, there are other issues at fault. One cause of white smoke from the exhaust might be the engine leaking coolant.

If the engine leaks coolant , it will be burned by the heat of the engine and then come out as smoke from the exhaust. If you notice that your car is blowing white smoke. When the engine is again started the exhaust system will heat up evaporating the water causing steam. If the white smoke still keeps coming out after the engine is nice and warm something may be wrong.

There may be problems with the engine block , and coolant may be leaking in to the engine because of a leak in the head gasket. Blue is a color of trouble with the oil. Thin, white smoke coming from an exhaust pipe usually indicates normal condensation buildup in the exhaust , but thick, white smoke can indicate a problem like the engine burning coolant, a cracked engine block, a blown head gasket or damaged cylinder head. One of the main causes of white exhaust smoke and coolant loss is a cracked or warped cylinder hea a cracked engine block, or head gasket failure caused by overheating.

A cracked head may allow coolant to leak into one or more cylinders or into the combustion chamber of the engine. Observe the white smoke and water escaping from the tail pipe. If white smoke starts to escape immediately, water begins to drip as the car warms up, and your exhaust smells of antifreeze, there is a coolant leak inside your engine.
