It is never a good signal and can indicate several problems. But if you spot it early, know what to do and act on it, these problems can be fixed. Blue or gray smoke coming from the exhaust pipe.
White smoke or water vapor coming from the tailpipe, especially in the morning when the engine is cold. Black smoke or very dark smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. A new fuel odor or drop in MPG that seems to be coming from the exhaust pipe. The most common reason for white smoke from the exhaust pipe that is condensed in the exhaust pipe.
White smoke that is like vapor and disappears soon could majorly be because of condensation. Steam is emitted by condensation in exhaust pipe which is seen at exhaust emission. A vehicles exhaust color means alot. White exhaust smoke indicates coolant is burning in the combustion chamber, blue exhaust smoke indicates oil, and black exhaust smoke indicates a rich condition. Keeping all the quickly moving parts of an engine well oiled is super important, but oil has no place in the combustion chamber, which requires air, fuel and spark only.

This creates a blue colored smoke which is passed down the exhaust system and then exits the car along with normal gases. A blue smoke condition is typically present when the engine is under load and at first start up after sitting for a few hours.
