The Chicago Botanic Garden’s collection of nearly 2bonsai includes gifts from the Midwest Bonsai Society and from Japanese bonsai master Susumu Nakamura. Among the trees donated by Nakamura was a Japanese white pine that has been trained for at least 1years. On rotating display, each bonsai takes the stage at the peak of its beauty. We are the premier bonsai society in the Rocky Mountain region, based in Denver, CO. In association with the Denver Botanic Gardens, we curate the bonsai collection at the Bill Hosokawa Bonsai Pavilion which includes many specimens collected from, and indigenous to the Colorado area.


Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s world-class bonsai collection is displayed in the C. Some of the trees are well over a century ol with many still cultivated in their original containers. The display changes with the seasons, and as many as specimens are on exhibit at any given time. Place a Bonsai Pot Manager near a Livingrock Bonsai Pot , place a chest next to manager, and direct a Mana Spreader into the manager. Manager does not require Mana to collect items, and it also works with regular bonsai pots , but it does require Mana to boost Livingrock pots. Join us for an entertaining and informative class with nationally recognized bonsai masters Harold Sasaki and Larry Jackel as they debunk the myths, fictions and misconceptions surrounding this living art form.


Each participant receives a tree, pot, wire, soil and gravel in this hands-on experience of creating a finished bonsai , which you can home. Davis Showhouse, trees from the Conservatory’s captivating bonsai collection are on display among serene, Japanese-inspired gardens. Evergreen, deciduous and tropical bonsai trees will rotate throughout the exhibition, giving patrons a unique viewing experience with each visit. Bonsai trees have been given many names, most will have their Botanical Genus and species name associated with them (for example: Cedrus atlantica), and sometimes a common name (for example: Atlas Cedar).


Just under one month to go until the 42nd annual Mid-America Bonsai Exhibition! August 16th to 18th, join us at the Chicago Botanic Garden for one of the country’s largest Bonsai exhibitions. Centered around the Garden’s own permanent Bonsai collection, the show will bring trees from around the country for the judged competition.


Presented by the Midwest Bonsai Society , this show draws visitors from across the United States and is often regarded as one of the top three shows of its kind in the country. Beginning Bonsai Are you mystified by the many centuries old Japanese tradition of bonsai ? The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens are proud to be the driving force behind the promotion of this art form in Israel. Bonsai is an art form that creates sculptures using living trees. In bonsai , this effect is created by spreading roots over a rock and then allowing the roots to develop.


One way to do this is to bury the rock among the roots when the plant is potte and let them grow for a period of years before slowly exposing them over time and allowing them to harden off, as done with the exposed root style. Botanic Wonders is a nursery that specializes in exotic succulents, cycads and palms. Our nursery is located in Vista California. We provide programs for beginners, novices and experienced enthusiasts. Our club meets monthly at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens (ABG) and other bonsai related sites in the Atlanta area.

Bonsai Master Walter Pall visits the Chicago Botanic Garden. It is with great pleasure that I announce that international bonsai master Walter Pall will be at the Chicago Botanic Garden, performing a demonstration on the collection’s oldest tree.
