Cub cadet blowing white smoke

Cub cadet blowing white smoke

Here are a few things that should be checked before taking the unit in for service. Several times in the past two weeks the engine just starts blowing white smoke. I was putting new oil in it and then started it up. It started smoking white smoke. I then checked oil level again and drained some out cause it was too full on the stick it said although I thought added under what the store even told me to add when changing the oil.

Re: RTV5with only hours started blowing white smoke Had a mule that did the same thing, especially when going up a pretty. My grass was really long when i was cutting it and this happened. I put in the oil and gas but it still happened. It is caused by the block cracking. Look at the engine in.

After it is warmed up and I have the pto engage it will blow a large cloud of white smoke out the muffler on hills (uphill, downhill, side hill) and lose power. I shut it off and restart and it will stop. While it may look ba an engine blowing smoke is often not a serious malfunction, but it can turn into something worse if left to its own.

Different colors of smoke can indicate different problems with your engine. At the end of last year every once in a while it would smoke for about seconds than went away. When warm, engine runs fine and if I restart while its warm,-no white smoke. The white smoke is the engine burning off all the excess oil. The fix - drain the excessive oil, and idle the engine until the smoke clears.

Depending on your mower type, draining the oil can be a pain in the ass. This may take minutes or so. I got this Briggs and Stratton oil extractor, on Amazon, makes life soooo easy. Electricity can power lighting systems, PTO blade engagement and starting on your mower. The cub is my everyday tractor I use for my year round doins.

I starting seeing white smoke come out of the breather vents. Im thinking the piston or rings might be bad. Are there any other possible causes that I could check first before I start diving into. Smoke blowing from the exhaust with a white -ish tint. A lawn mower that is putting out white smoke usually indicates an engine that is burning oil.

So why is your mower blowing white smoke ? I've never had a v-twin or pressurized oil mower motor before. Overfilling the oil or an excess of oxygen within the engine usually causes this. Mower manual says put throttle to slow before shutting off. After a combination of light reving and letting it idle, it smooths out and the smoke goes away.

A suction leak (between the tank and supply pump sometimes including a filter) will allow enough air into the fuel to change the timing enough to cause low power and white smoke.
