What does white smoke from motorcycle exhaust mean? What can cause white smoke to come out of exhaust? What causes white smoke from exhaust and smells like oil? Why is white smoke coming out of my cars tail pipes? If white smoke continues to come out of your exhaust while the car is running, there are other issues at fault.
One cause of white smoke from the exhaust might be the engine leaking coolant. If the engine leaks coolant, it will be burned by the heat of the engine and then come out as smoke from the exhaust. The first sign of having contaminated oil is white exhaust smoke coming out of the tailpipe. As this continues, the white smoke will begin to have a sweet odor smell that won’t go away.
Damaged Coolant Reservoir Tank. Another area that can leak coolant is the coolant reservoir tank. This is generally less common to leak, but it can happen if the reservoir tank were to get damaged or cracked. The white smoke is the result of normal condensation which builds up inside the exhaust system. This is probably the result of normal condensation buildup inside the exhaust system.
This kind of smoke disappears quickly. However, thicker smoke is a big problem, and can be caused the engine burning coolant. As the engine warms up and the condensation dissipates the white exhaust smoke (steam) is no longer seen. This in white smoke coming from the tailpipe , usually accompanied by a sweet smell. Solution: Your engine will need to be partially disassemble have the gasket replace and then be reassembled.
If the white smoke still keeps coming out after the engine is nice and warm something may be wrong. Blue is a color of trouble with the oil. A common occurrence is for white smoke to be emitted in a thick burst, and it’s important to differentiate between thick white smoke and thin white smoke. Thin white smoke is usually a result of condensation build-up within the exhaust system and will burn out fairly quickly.
White Smoke From Car Exhaust. It also tends to occur on cold mornings. You may commonly see white smoke coming from the exhaust on cooler days upon starting. This is likely due to steam created due to the engine burning off the condensation. If this is the cause, then the exhaust smoke may come with a sweet smell.
A small amount of water is produced as a normal bi product of the combustion process and until the exhaust system warms up the water evaporates and can be seen as steam. There may also be a low level of coolant reserve. The most common reason for white smoke from the exhaust pipe that is condensed in the exhaust pipe.
Steam is emitted by condensation in exhaust pipe which is seen at exhaust emission. If the coolant mixes with the oil, it comes out through the exhaust as white smoke. You can differentiate it from normal white smoke by its sweet smell. The thing you should be on the lookout for is excessive amounts of white smoke.
When the coolant is heated up, it will produce white smoke. A steady stream of white smoke during normal driving conditions points to fuel vapors, or in some cases, raw fuel exiting the exhaust. Worn or defective glow plugs, improper engine timing and defective fuel pump pressure will allow excess fuel to exit the exhaust in the form of white smoke.
Black smoke or very dark smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. A new fuel odor or drop in MPG that seems to be coming from the exhaust pipe. Normally this is a sign of a blown head gasket or cracked head. This is a very serious situation that must be repaired immediately.
You must STOP driving this vehicle or you will cause serious engine damage.
