Mazda 3 blowing white smoke

White smoke itself is not necessarily an indication that something is wrong. Here are some of the most common things that cause it broken down by smoke thickness. Keep in mind that some smoke is completely normal at times.

When you fist start your vehicle (espescially in colder climates) white smoke is normal until the engine warms up. If it’s cold enough, it may never go all the way away. Within a week, I noticed lots of white smoke out the tailpipe on startup (see video - that was from sitting overnight), and even after the engine is warm (driving on highway for an hour), it still will give me enough to. I shut it off took the turbo out and had it replaced.

There was oil in my turbo, intercooler, and all the lines in between. Put it back together and she drove great for a full week until. The jerking was at random point, and the greyish smoke was the same, both were not consistent through the whole trip. I changed the oil on Sunday and Monday was fine, however, I topped up the oil as it seemed low. The issue is, I topped it up when I got home, so after a minute drive I added oil to the hot engine.

It evaporates and causes that white smoke to apear from the exhaust pipe , which is just evaporated water. If this sympton is happening the cause is a head gasket. One thing you can do to know for sure is check to see if the radiator fliud level is running low or has been a little more quicker than usual.

The white smoke is the result of normal condensation which builds up inside the exhaust system. How much smoke are we talking here, and for how long until it stops doing it? The car is used most often on race tracks. They will prob be sticklers asking for receipts of oil changes, but otherwise this confirms good things. New PCV system being designed to help.

The smoke should be mostly harmless. At 20Miles I noticed that the white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe during city driving conditions (Long Idle periods waiting for lights to turn color). I found the Technical Bulletin online and changed the oil to 5W-40. The radiator was replace due to a crack on the bottom.

Blowing white smoke is a red flag for your diesel engine, yet we see this happen all the time to our customers. In many cases, white smoke emanating from the tailpipe (often at idle once the engine reached operating temperature) typically means a worn out injector. Has a oilish burnt smell to it. Oil levels consistently fine, no notable loss, oil has also always been cleanish (no metal) when draining at oil change.

This is probably the result of normal condensation buildup inside the. A little bit of white smoke when you start the car can be the engine warming up and getting rid of condensation but a lot of smoke when the car is running can be the sign of a few problems in the car. Often times when you blow a head gasket you may not realize the symptoms immediately, and that can be a big problem.

Learn what the signs of a blown head gasket are to avoid more damage to your vehicle. I was at a stoplight and smelled something. Not sweet, just a sort of awkward smell. When I started accelerating a big puff of white smoke billowed out of my exhaust. My car is bucking like a bronco, when I hit the throttle it lags, there is white smoke coming from my oil dip stick slot, and trunk.

It smells like burning rubber.
