The Calyx is occasionally closed for private access. Boasting stunning architecture, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest green wall, a light Asian fusion menu by day and a stunning event space by night. It features an exhibition room and learnign centre, a display courtyard and a tiny island surrounded by a circular walkway with pergola.

When I went they had an incredible exhibit of carnivorous plants. The exhibit was really well put together and was free to visit. An integrated mix of indoor and outdoor areas, the Calyx plays host to different exhibitions throughout the year. Learn more about our displays and the poeple that put them together. Calyx cafe has a small area to grab a bite to eat and drink. Quality ingredients and fresh food. Some people enjoyed a wine and beer here too. Inside and outside seats.

With indoor and outdoor locations and grand views from the central arc, the Calyx is home to periodic exhibitions. For a garden lover there seemed no better setting than a garden which stands at metres tall, covers metres of wall and contains 10odd flowers. Whether you’re hosting a small and intimate gathering or a large and lavish event, the luscious garden surrounds are a stunning backdrop for any occasion. Budding horticulturalists who like plants with attitude should head to the Royal Botanical Gardens for a free exhibition of carnivorous greenery.


At the moment, the centrepiece of that is an island with topiary howler monkeys to introduce visitors to the South American-themed chocolate. They are family friendly and they try to keep up with times. They have a vivid display and I think this was the first year. The plants and trees are immaculately kept. Many colourful spring flowers are currently on display indoors and outdoors.

Pollination is a FREE display, curated by The Gardens horticultural team, featuring a large collection of plants and flowers showcasing the role colour plays during pollination.


A good place to visit. Earth Hour is an annual international event th. Beautiful display of orchids, daisies, gardenias and lilies. Sydney Botanical Gardens are beautiful. This contemporary glasshouse showcases flower exhibitions like Pollination, to demonstrate the importance of colour in the flower pollination process.


The building also offers an onsite cafe to its visitors. The Fossil Q smartwatches combine the brand’s classic aesthetic with convenient technology that makes everyday life a tad easier. Even if the food was atrocious people would still love visiting. Luckily the food is a delicious Asian inspired treat.


The current (free) exhibition of carnivorous plants is excellent. Easy walk from the Opera House. In addition to the display area, a nice little cafe, gift shop and clean restrooms. It is a staggering exhibition space that also contains an artistic wall of flowers about metres long and metres high. The nature of the displays obviously changes with the seasons.
