The annual Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is back, paying homage to Japan’s seasonal beauties. Running from Saturday August to Sunday August, you can get your ‘gram on in the Japanese gardens, with these beautiful florals staying in bloom for a fleeting two weeks only. There’s even an animal exhibit to see, and food stalls to visit so there’s plenty to do for everyone. The Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual event which occurs over a two-week period each year. Avoid the weekends as it can be very crowded and busy. It is high on the list of places we recommend the most. You can have a quiet picnic under the trees. While beautiful all year roun it is particularly gorgeous in spring with the blooming cherry blossoms and autumn with the changing leaves. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival is held in the Japanese Gardens between mid August and early September.


It is absolutely beautiful to experience the Japanese Gardens when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Aside from the gardens themselves and the beautiful blooms there is a lot going on at the gardens relating to Japanese Culture. Other events include night time karaoke led by Fuji Rockers “Abban”, a pop-up stadium for the gods of Australian sumo, sake by Sakeshop and Japanese craft beer. I took a friend from overseas to the Cherry Blossom Festival on Sunday 27. So many people you could not move.


The entrance gate simply funneled people directly into an already overcrowded food court. Directions to the Japanese gardens and the cherry blossoms were non-existent. The directory sign was totally useless. Cherry Blossom Basically, the cherry blossoms have a slight slit on the petals and the plum blossom have a rounded one.


After a number of research, I therefore conclude that most of the blossoms in the garden are plum blossoms. The cherry blossoms are at the sides of the garden. Seward Park is the original home of the Seattle Cherry Blossom Festival.


Now, the festival takes place at the Seattle Center every Spring.
