My toro lawn mower is smoking

If the lawn mower engine produces black smoke , this indicates that the carburetor is getting too much fuel (or running rich). If the carburetor float is stuck open, the engine will get too much fuel. Similarly, if the carburetor choke is stuck close the lawn mower engine will not be able to draw in enough air to create the proper air-fuel mixture. You see the same phenomenon when you burn leaves and pack them too tightly to allow air to circulate. If there is paint on the muffler , it could be burning off.

Also check the cylinder hea the cylinder could be leaking. I removed the muffler and sprayed the insides with carbeator cleaner.
