It has about 20miles on it. Though, after I would ride just for a little bit enough to get the engine hot there is a steady stream of white smoke coming from the crankcase breather tube. Should I have the tube cleaned? Is there a ccvf I should change?
White smoke from diesels can be either unburnt diesel or steam. Unburnt diesel smoke usualy from the exhaust but not always. What causes white exhaust smoke , what causes an. I have read this is due to by pass gas either coming through the piston rings or from a valve guide seal.
I also read this is due to excessive crankcase pressure due too to Much oil ( which is not the case) or due to the lack of oil because of a bad oil pump. Unsubscribe from AeroviewUSA? So I bought my first cummins about mounths ago and it runs great and sounds fantastic.
But there is a lot of (blow by) white smoke comming out of the breather. I am wondering if it could be because of the vacuum pump leak? I did the oil cap test and there is no air or smoke moving the oil cap. Truck has 240miles and.
I changed my pcv valve and the problem went away. I assume that it was caused by the pcv being clogged. So, the normal crankcase fumes would build up and the gases could only escape through the breather.
I also noticed i had about a half tank of gas and now have very little bit. Whilst on the track during a recent practise day (dirt speedway), a large amount of smoke came out of the crankcase breather filter so I quickly returned to the pits and found that oil had been spat out all over the place. Just noticed thick white smoke coming from crankcase breather hose AND Oil tank. Reaks of gas, and smoke from breather.
The breather pipe to the rocker cover blows white smoke down under the machine. There is plenty of oil and water in the machine, and it is serviced regularly. Have you any idea what this could be. Is it a new or an old motorcycle ? So what would smoke coming out of the crankcase vent tube.
What you describe is what happens to me and has ever since I did the breather mod. Case pressures rise with rpm, so naturally after driving and stopping the pressure will be releasing and appear to have a lot of smoke. White exhaust smoke is normally a sign of unburned diesel and is more likely caused by injector problems (timing or damaged), it can also be some of the issues for blue smoke causing low compression and hence incomplete fuel burn, water in the cylinders can also cause it (blown head gasket, cracked block or head).
Re: Smoking Crankcase breather The smoke is blueish to white and has an oil smell to it, the motor starts very easy and runs good. I ran it with a bush hog for about minutes and it ran great with good power. Hours were 1and it was it’s third oil and filter change. I did notice it was starting to smoke a bit at that time. I drained some liquid from the muffler thought that might have been the problem.
The engine runs now and sound very strong but my problem is that alot of white smoke come out from the valve cover breather on the left side at the right side also from the valve cover plug i also do have a pcv valve and its installed but not the line yet, because i need to drill a hole in my intake manifold first, i run a 15w oil, the guy. I have checked to make sure that the pump is scavenging (both oil tank level and there was lt;100ml in the sump). I have removed and cleaned the new Morgo plunger oil pump several times and have not found anything in.
