Its main parking lot is just off West 37th Avenue. There is also street parking along Oak and nearby side streets. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.

Wrap up warmly for your weave around the pond-centered gardens or just add an extra mug or three of hot chocolate (sold on site) to keep you warm. Over million lights decorate acres of the garden. That includes the Dancing Lights show on Livingstone Lake to a visit with the Man in Red at Santa’s Lodge.

There is plenty more for families, including Recycled Rhythms. VanDusen Festival of Lights is jam-packed with activities. Here, kids can make music with recycled instruments. The festival also includes a breathtaking display on Livingstone Lake every minutes, where lights dance to classic, disco, and soul music sets. Breath in crisp air as you explore the grounds under the festive glow of over a million twinkling lights. Afterwards, the festivities continue as you feast on dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. It is a magical experience. Best to arrive just on sunset to capture images of the lights while still some day light so you can get just that little bit extra in your photos. Enjoy the twinkling lights and light show, take a stroll down Candy Cane Lane, hear the sweet sounds of carolling, and get in to the spirit of the season.

The event, heading into its 35th year, is open to the public Saturday through to Jan. Stroll with friends and family through. The lights are programmed to create a spectacular display that syncs up with festive tunes, both classic and modern. Areas like the Dancing Lights , which plays music and has a kind of light show every mins, or the Lantern Alley, where each tree is filled with glowing lanterns.
