White smoke at cold start

What causes white smoke and engine blow by? What could cause white smoke and no coolant? Why do diesels smoke white when cold? Is white smoke at idle always injectors? If you notice you are low on coolant or having to add coolant then there could be an issue.

When the warm or hot exhaust gases meet cold outside air , condensation and steam is a result. After a short amount of driving, the white smoke should lessen. White smoke on start up in the morning for a few seconds is normal and harmless. But it is always a good idea to keep an eye on your oil and coolant levels on any car, smoke or no smoke.

Even in a hot and humid climate , there will be some condensation in the exhaust system overnight. Continuous white smoke while driving is one of them. If you are having a diesel, white smoke may be unburned fuel or coolant going through the engine.

This is probably coming because of normal condensation build-up in your car’s exhaust system, especially if it has undergone damp or cold climate conditions.
