Is it open and smoking from there also? If it is, you have alot of blowby. Blowby gases are primarily from rings not sealing. You can get some blowby from exhaust valve guides if extremely worn but is not likely.
You could spot this with the valve cover off and also see if the smoke is coming up from the bottom of the engine while idling. The most common cause of white smoke from the engine bay is a coolant leak that is leaking on a heated part like the exhaust manifold. Open the hood and check for any noticeable coolant leaks. The engine runs now and sound very strong but my problem is that alot of white smoke come out from the valve cover breather on the left side at the right side also from the valve cover plug i also do have a pcv valve and its installed but not the line yet, because i need to drill a hole in my intake manifold first, i run a 15w oil, the guy. It starts goo has good pep and no knocks.
But is is blowing grayish white smoke out the valve cover vent tube. There are no bubbles on the oil dip stick, no foam in the radiator, and NO SMOKE. The breather pipe to the rocker cover blows white smoke down under the machine. There is plenty of oil and water in the machine, and it is serviced regularly.
Have you any idea what this could be. Is smoke just comming out the breathers only or do you see it at the tail pipe also? Do your valve covers have baffles in them? Is there an increase in smoke when the engine is reved? I would install a working PVC and see if that does not solve your issue first!
When i give it some gas, smoke comes outta teh valve cover breather. I did have a moroso brether on it, that just had holes at the bottom, and it shot a little oil onto the top of my valve covers , so now I replaced it with an edelbroke race filter, and it still has oil. Unsubscribe from Magic? Make sure detached pieces of the valve cover locking mechanism do not fall into the open valve cover port during removal.
Rotate the adapter counterclockwise and remove from valve cover. It runs pretty smooth though I have white smoke coming out of the valve cover breather. Its not alot of smoke but I dont know if its normal for a new engine. Also, the engine is supercharged with 9psi. I changed my valve cover gasket today in hopes to stop oil consumption.
I also changed my spark plugs while at it. However when I bolted everything back up and started the car there is a bit of rattling coming from the engine bay and some white smoke coming from the back of the car through the exhaust. Either the intake valve , or the valve seat could be pitted. The other possibility is that the head may be cracked clear through the intake valve hole. Hope you find a new head gasket for it.
Someone must be pretty new to automobiles for not checking it first. White smoke on startup is a very good indication of a bad PCV valve.
