DCi glow plug light comes on and goes into limp mode. It looks white to me, but some may say light grey, but NOT at all dark. CDTI white smoke and burning diesel smell under the bonnet, DPF. Often white smoke in diesels is a result of incorrect mixture.
Dci micra in the family and since last weeks its kicking big levels of white smoke. No loss of power no other changes. I am have a feeling that it is the Trubo.

If you have a Vivaro, Primastar, or Trafic van and have no power at low RPM, general rough running, and have the check engine light illuminated on the dashboar there are several things that you need to rule out to track down and solve the problem. Is the smoke completely white or a blueish white ? What does this whitish smoke smell like, burning oil or sweet smelling? What colour is the oil on the dipstick? Is there any sludgy stuff onmthe underside of the oil filler cap?
Is the water level up to the normal position in the radiator resevoir? If I was to guess(I am no diesel expert) I would be thinking you have an. Black or White Smoke from Diesel Engine Black smoke from a diesel engine when accelerating is not always a serious problem. Most diesel cars (if not all) emit a small amount of black exhaust smoke while accelerating. It takes some time for the engine system to develop enough revolutions (RPM) and power to burn the fuel.
This is for anyone out there who has a Renault Trafic 1. It states that you pull the solenoid section off first and then withdraw the valve part. Again, adding coolant or antifreeze to your car's cooling system will keep your car from overheating for as long as you remember to keep feeding the reservoir, but the wise move is to have it checked out as soon as possible. White smoke : Water condensation or antifreeze has mixed with the fuel supply.
The indication is apparent when white smoke appears while the car is running, but not when you start it. The reason for this type of white smoke is due to burning coolant that somehow got mixed up. Having some problems with my mktransit recovery truck ( non turbo di), was all running fine until it suddenly lost power and kicked out alot of white smoke.
I started by cracking off each injector and noticed nomade no difference to running so replaced it with a new one which made no difference. My father has a Renault Kangoo 1. It idles ok but there is a lack of power and lots of white smoke. I removed the EGR valve and cleaned it up. It had a lot of carbon on it. It didnt look like cold start white smoke , it looked really thick and exhaust was making a ''puf-puf'' noise and it smelt like syrup.
