Heavy exhaust smoke

Heavy exhaust smoke

Black exhaust smoke means the engine is burning too much fuel. The first think you should check is your air-filter and other intake components like. If you the white smoke consistently comes out and the sweet odor smell is present, then it is definitely a problem with your coolant leaking. Condensation that accumulates inside the exhaust pipes, converter and mufflers can produce a puff of white smoke upon diesel engine start-up. In very cold temperatures, the heated exhaust can freeze into minute fuel droplets when exiting the exhaust and produce a more prolonged emission of white smoke for a very short period of driving time.

What Your Exhaust Smoke Is Trying To Tell You Car. If an engine is burning oil (due to leaking seals), then you’ll definitely notice the car has really smelly exhaust fumes. When the engine is again started the exhaust system will heat up evaporating the water causing steam. As a car owner you expect something to come from the tailpipe.

If smoke is being release then this is indicative of a problem. HOWTO looks at all the possible reasons why white smoke is coming from your exhaust pipe. White smoke can be nothing to be concerned about if it’s thin, like vapor.

Heavy exhaust smoke

This kind of smoke disappears quickly. However, thicker smoke is a big problem, and can be caused the engine burning coolant. The black smoke is composed primarily of elemental carbon from incomplete combustion of diesel fuel and traces of engine lubricant.

The exhaust of a typical diesel engine contains elemental carbon (soot), semi-volatile organic. If the smoke is thin, and goes away relatively quickly, than it is merely condensation. Your engine is more than likely burning coolant. Why heavy white smoke coming out to the exhaust. Water is getting into your exhaust possibly from blown head gasket or cracked head.

As the engine warms up and the condensation dissipates the white exhaust smoke (steam) is no longer seen. Q: My car produces a heavy amount of white smoke when I start it. When I start the ignition white smoke come out of the tailpipe.

But when I start to drive or give it gas a heavy amount of this white smoke is produced. This is generally steam caused by condensation. In this video we show you why!

Blowing out giant clouds of white smoke while hot or cold. Does not overheat or use any coolant. I have to get a smog check in California. Diagnostic check flags sensor.

Please help can’t afford a car right now. When the fuel injector of a heavy duty diesel engine wears out, it causes the nozzle hole to enlarge or the injector needle to erode. The cause could be a rupture in the breathing tube, which channels air from the combustion chamber to the exhaust port. Black Smoke : Black smoke , unlike white smoke , contains a high concentration of carbon exhaust particles. The combustion of diesel fuel in the cylinders breaks down the long chain of carbon molecules to smaller and smaller molecular chains.

When the exhaust leaves the engines the byproduct is a combination of carbon dioxide and water. The most likely culprit is one or more worn fuel injectors. Last week, just as I was thinking I had seen it all, a Ford F2was checked in that had a problem of Heavy White Smoke constantly emanating from the tailpipe at idle and worse as you increased RPM.

During my initial testing, it was so bad that on a couple particular restarts the engine knocked slightly and almost felt as though it wanted to. Diesel Smoke tells YOU a Story. Basically, smoke from a diesel engine indicates that something is not right. It should be taken as an indication that there is a problem existing (or developing), that will potentially shorten the engine life, or result in unnecessary costs.

Smoke clears up while driving and does not reappear while stopped and idling (like stopped at a light). If I park for a few minutes then, come back and start it white smoke reappears until i start driving.
