Water coming out of exhaust and white smoke

What does white smoke from motorcycle exhaust mean? Why would a car blow white smoke? Could the Turbo cause my white smoke? What causes a lot of smoke to come from the exhaust?

Water coming out of exhaust and white smoke

Observe the white smoke and water escaping from the tail pipe. If white smoke starts to escape immediately, water begins to drip as the car warms up, and your exhaust smells of antifreeze, there is a coolant leak inside your engine. The most noticeable symptom of internal coolant leakage is when the white smoke is billowing out of the exhaust pipe and leaves a sweet odor in the air. The smoke should only be coming out in small amounts after you start your engine.

Then after about seconds to a minute, the white smoke should clear up. If this is the case then you have nothing to worry about. Cracked Cylinder Head. Whenever your cylinder head is cracked or damage coolant will begin to leak out of it.

One cause of white smoke from the exhaust might be the engine leaking coolant. If the engine leaks coolant, it will be burned by the heat of the engine and then come out as smoke from the exhaust. A problem with antifreeze might also be causing white smoke to come from the exhaust. This will cause white smoke , along with the idle issue.

This is very easy to recognize since there is a difference between burning gasoline explosion and a burning oil explosion. Leaking or blown head gasket: The head gasket is located between the engine block and cylinder head. It seals the combustion chambers, as well as the coolant and oil passages.

A leaking or blown head gasket can allow coolant to enter the combustion chamber. This in white smoke coming from the tailpipe,. This indicates the presence of either water or coolant – antifreeze – in the combustion chamber. This is normal and is why exhaust systems have small holes at the rear of the muffler to allow water to drip out.

When the engine is again started the exhaust system will heat up evaporating the water causing steam. White smoke or water vapor coming from the tailpipe, especially in the morning when the engine is cold. Black smoke or very dark smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. A new fuel odor or drop in MPG that seems to be coming from the exhaust pipe. Water is being introduced into the combustion chamber.

This is why your car smokes white in the mornings when it’s cold until it warms up and clear water condensation. If it smoking much at all you will have water coming out of the tailpipe. The white smoke coming out of a tailpipe is called steam.

It is caused by water leaking into a cylinder. It can be caused from a blown head gasket letting water from your cooling system leak into a cylinder. When the gasoline and air burn, it makes the water in the cylinder turn to steam. The steam goes out your tailpipe with your exhaust gases. Cars on a cold morning in the winter are going to generate a white vapor.

Exhaust pipe leaking water. This ordinarily goes away once the car engine is warm. If the white smoke still keeps coming out after the engine is nice and warm something may be wrong. There may be problems with the engine block,.

The other type of smoke is from burning oil. That usually isn’t white. It’s usually gray or black and the inside of the tailpipe will have a black residue on it.
