Being Sunday and a nice sunny day it was very crowded but still worth while. The cherry blossoms of course steal the show and create a stunning ambiance for the crowd to revel in. Almost like being in Japan in springtime. Ya, lumayan lah untuk menghilangkan penat gegara tugas-tugas kuliah.
In Japanese culture, the cherry blossom symbolises the fragility of life and its beauty. Running from Saturday August to Sunday August, you can get your ‘gram on in the Japanese gardens, with these beautiful florals staying in bloom for a fleeting two weeks only. There’s even an animal exhibit to see, and food stalls to visit so there’s plenty to do for everyone.
This year the festival will feature different themes each day so make sure to check out the program. Themes include Hanami, Garden Day, Kids Day, Serenity, Seniors Day and Let’s Japan. Cherry Blossom Festival The Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual event which occurs over a two-week period each year. The work includes Cherry Blossom ‘Ghillie suits’ displayed.
It is absolutely beautiful to experience the Japanese Gardens when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Aside from the gardens themselves and the beautiful blooms there is a lot going on at the gardens relating to Japanese Culture. The festival, held at the gardens annually, is a celebration of Japanese culture with a schedule of events and activities coinciding with the brief blooming of the Cherry Blossoms in Sydney at the end of winter. We were anticipating a large number of visitors so we arrived early, about 8am, just to make sure we have a parking space. While waiting for the garden to open, we first had our breakfast at the park. Western Sydneys most idyllic festival has kicked off this weekend. Picnic lunch provided. Access: Moderate amount of walking, excellent mobility required.
Entry is $for adults but free for local residents. Cherry blossom is highly symbolic in Japanese culture representing beauty and the fragility of life. So what is there to eat and do there? For $a ticket we were given access to everything that the festival had to offer, such as many Japanese food truck s , sumo wrestling, live cooking demonstrations by Masterchef winner Adam Liaw, as well as unlimited access to the Cherry Blossom trail. Other events include night time karaoke led by Fuji Rockers “Abban”, a pop-up stadium for the gods of Australian sumo, sake by Sakeshop and Japanese craft beer. Auburn garden is based around a lake.
