Q: My car produces a heavy amount of white smoke when I start it. When I start the ignition white smoke come out of the tailpipe. But when I start to drive or give it gas a heavy amount of this white smoke is produced.

If smoke is being release then this is indicative of a problem. HOWTO looks at all the possible reasons why white smoke is coming from your exhaust pipe. Causes of White Smoke from the Exhaust pipe. The most noticeable symptom of internal coolant leakage is when the white smoke is billowing out of the exhaust pipe and leaves a sweet odor in the air.

As a car owner you expect something to come from the tailpipe. As the engine warms up and the condensation dissipates the white exhaust smoke (steam) is no longer seen. This is generally steam caused by condensation. Why heavy white smoke coming out to the exhaust. Clicking this will make more experts see.

The truth of the matter is that there are a few things that can cause white smoke , but a blown head gasket is. One of two conditions is responsible for white smoke blowing out of your exhaust. First is normal condition (so you don’t have to panic) and the second is a not so normal condition which should be fixed as soon as possible. Sometimes the clouds of blue, black or white smoke coming from your tailpipe will be hard to miss.

Other times the smoke may be a bit more subtle and easy to overlook. However, the white smoke from exhaust pipe comes out when this element leaks into the engine’s combustion compartment. Last week, just as I was thinking I had seen it all, a Ford F2was checked in that had a problem of Heavy White Smoke constantly emanating from the tailpipe at idle and worse as you increased RPM.

During my initial testing, it was so bad that on a couple particular restarts the engine knocked slightly and almost felt as though it wanted to. There may be several reasons for a car smoking white smoke from the exhaust. In this oneHOWTO article, we are going to talk about how to stop white smoke from the exhaust , no matter what the underlying reason is.

Not always smoke coming out of your tailpipe is a devastating engine problem, sometimes its as. Condensation that accumulates inside the exhaust pipes, converter and mufflers can produce a puff of white smoke upon diesel engine start-up. In very cold temperatures, the heated exhaust can freeze into minute fuel droplets when exiting the exhaust and produce a more prolonged emission of white smoke for a very short period of driving time.

When the engine is again started the exhaust system will heat up evaporating the water causing steam. And I don’t just mean a slight whiff of smoke when starting, or when the engine is at maximum loa I am talking regular usage white smoke. During really cold weather, it is reasonable to expect some, but an engine running at full power should show no visible smoke.

What you can do, is unplug each injector one by one until it stops smoking. This kind of smoke disappears quickly. However, thicker smoke is a big problem, and can be caused the engine burning coolant. Yesterday after five minutes of neighborhood driving, I accelerated after a right-turn-on-red (so accelerating a little heavily) and saw a great deal of white (maybe blue) smoke coming out of my tail pipe , and at the same time experienced a loss of acceleration (or perhaps my transmission shifted in a strange way, I'm not sure) then the smoke. White smoke can be nothing to be concerned about if it’s thin, like vapor.

Smoke clears up while driving and does not reappear while stopped and idling (like stopped at a light). If I park for a few minutes then, come back and start it white smoke reappears until i start driving. This typically occurs due to the engine being too cool to burn the fuel, often resulting from low compression in one cylinder, problems with the fuel injection timing or a defective fuel injector. Blowing out giant clouds of white smoke while hot or cold. Does not overheat or use any coolant.

I have to get a smog check in California. Diagnostic check flags sensor. Please help can’t afford a car right now.
