Environmental pollution index

Environmental pollution index

A look at the broader environmental context can help researchers better understand health outcomes and how they relate to cumulative environmental exposures. These metrics provide a gauge at a national scale of how close countries are to established environmental policy goals. The index captures the various dimensions of environment including air, water and land. More information about these indices.

Select date: Select display column: Chart: Pollution Index. The GAIA air quality monitoring stations are using high-tech laser particle sensors to measure in real-time PM2. Very easy to set up, they only require a WIFI access point and a USB power supply. The higher the AQI value, the greater the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern.

For example, an AQI value of represents good air quality with little potential to affect public health, while an AQI value over 3represents hazardous air quality. Data Sources for an Environmental Quality Index : Availability, Quality, and Utility Danelle T. Environmental Pollution welcomes high quality submissions on all aspects of environmental pollution and the mitigation measures related to ecosystem. Lobdell , Ph Jyotsna S. Messer , PhD Danelle T. Jagai are with the Office of Research and Development, US Environmental Protection Agency Research Triangle Park, NC. These indices are historical and they are published periodically. Findings from re-examination and interpretation of existing data are also included. Air pollution is a mixture of natural and man-made substances in the air we breathe. It is typically separated into two categories: outdoor air pollution and indoor air pollution. Outdoor air pollution involves exposures that take place outside of the built environment.

Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk. Displaying up-to-the-minute data for the whole of Europe, users can gain new insights into the air quality of individual countries, regions and cities. The data entry for indoor pollution can be found here.

The environment will continue to deteriorate until pollution practices are abandoned. Pollution from cars, trucks, and other vehicles is and has been our major environmental pollution issue for almost a century now. The problem is we did not realize this until the problem had manifested to. Environmental Science and Pollution Research (ESPR) serves the international community in all areas of Environmental Science and related subjects with emphasis on chemical compounds. It reports from a broad interdisciplinary outlook.

The Technical Services Program of the Air Pollution Control Division is responsible for the collection and analysis of air quality data throughout the state. The program is also responsible for providing modeling analyses to determine the impacts various sources will have on air quality. Air Pollutant Index (API) Figure : Air Pollution Index Flowchart.

The API is developed in easily understood ranges of values as a means of reporting the quality of air instead of using the actual concentration of air pollutants. Air Quality Index , or AQI which rates air conditions across the country based on concentrations of five major pollutants: ground-level ozone, particle pollution (or particulate matter), carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. Indices are at the county level for all counties in the United States.

While India is at the bottom of the list in. Pollution is the contamination of the environment by introduction of contaminants that can cause damage to environment and harm or discomfort to humans or other living species. Apart from the strictly scientific contributions as research articles (short and full papers). The commission approved a recommendation by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to begin the process of designating the lakes as Outstanding Resource Waters of the state. Such a process to consider designation of these waters would include development of rules that would further protect the lakes from degradation of their water quality.
