You have an engine and exhaust system full of exhaust , and it takes ages for the exhaust to clear out after the engine stops. Then after about seconds to a minute, the white smoke should clear up. If this is the case then you have nothing to worry about.
The most noticeable symptom of internal coolant leakage is when the white smoke is billowing out of the exhaust pipe and leaves a sweet odor in the air. SymptoEngine uses more oil than normal, and there is some smoke from the exhaust. The oil level is low between oil changes. It appears that the oil is being burned by the engine because of the smoke in the exhaust.
If it is fuel injected you may have a leaking injector that drips into the motor when the car is off. That will make it smoke because of the heat of the motor. Could my catalytic converter be the reason as to why my cars exhaust is smoking after I turn my car off ? So i was just driving back from home today, and on my way home I filled up with gas without any problems.
As I was getting out of my car, i noticed that white smoke was coming out from my back of my exhaust , even though my car was off. It was coming out from left side only, which i understand. Still having the same issue.
More frequent now then before the gasket was changed. Starts smoking after I turn car off. For this model year, the smaller Escape has lost some of its chunky and squared- off charm in favor of more rounded bodywork. The engine passes off various types of exhaust smoke – white, black, grey and blue. You need to identify each for accurate diagnosis.
When the exhaust emits black smoke, it means that gasoline has flooded the combustion chambers and it is not fully ignited. Exhaust coming from your vehicle’s tailpipe should be clear. This will cause white smoke, along with the idle issue. This is very easy to recognize since there is a difference between burning gasoline explosion and a burning oil explosion. Took my yz250x out for a rip earlier this arvo, and when I came back and shut it off the exhaust kept smoking (about as much as a candle when you blow it out) for around - minutes.
Only thing I can think of is maybe I set the exhaust packing or some carbon build up on. What could cause this? Many engine problems create abnormal or excessive exhaust smoke.
In your engine , fuel is burned in each cylinder, creating exhaust gases. These gases exit through valves in the engine and then flow through the exhaust manifold and into the exhaust pipes. If the smoke is coming from under your hoo that probably means you ignored white smoke coming out of the tailpipe, and now your engine is overheating. Or maybe you completely forgot to add coolant at all, and the engine overheated.
Not that anyone would ever do that. If the white smoke still keeps coming out after the engine is nice and warm something may be wrong. There may be problems with the engine block, and coolant may be leaking in to the engine because of a leak in the head gasket.
Blue is a color of trouble with the oil. If, on the other han oil is dripping out where the valve cover connects to the.
