In this example, you will read the sensor analog output voltage and when the smoke reaches a certain level, it will make sound a buzzer and a red LED will turn on. When the output voltage is below that level, a green LED will be on. In this project, we will go over how to build a smoke sensor circuit with an arduino board. The smoke sensor we will use is the MQ-2. This is a sensor that is not only sensitive to smoke , but also to flammable gas.

The MQ-smoke sensor reports smoke by the voltage level that it outputs. MQSensor is one of the most commonly used Sensors throughout the world. The resistance of the sensor is different depending on the type. It starts reading data from the MQ-sensor. The data is read from the analog output pin of the sensor. The read data is in the form of an analog voltage which is digitized using inbuilt ADC channel. The Smoke sensor we used is the MQ-1sensor.
