Our vegetarian, vegan and allergy aware meals, snacks and baking are all home made. Located in the hills of the Scottish Borders, 65-acre Dawyck enjoys an almost continental climate comprising warm dry summers followed by col snowy winters. Dawyck is very much a garden for all seasons and has its allure in so many ways all through the year.
I agree at this time of year it can be grey and murky but the occasional glint of sunshine make it all worthwhile. All set for a busy weekend at Dawyck Cafe. So come along and enjoy a walk and some fabulous home made cakes, traybakes, tablet and our great menu selections for lunch. We used the cafe both before and after our visit to Dawyck gardens and both the food and staff could not be faulted.
The usual Sunday afternoon guided tours will return this year. There will also be pop events, bring and buy plant sales and pruning and planting workshops among other fab events. Many thanks to you all.
The 65-acre five star Garden offers woodland and burnside walks and is renowned for its seasonal displays of snowdrops, bluebells, Himalayan poppies, rhododendrons, azaleas and autumn colour. That’s because it lies in the pretty Scottish Borders miles south of Edinburgh. Rolling hills, low stone walls and the babbling River Tweed get you fully in the mood for this great woodland garden which has a devoted following.

Incredible tree specimens, beautiful layered gardens. It is one of three specialist gardens in different areas of Scotland that form part of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Dawyck Botanic Garden lies just off the B7near Stobo, some eight miles south west of Peebles and a similar distance south east of Biggar.
It is owned and managed as a Regional Garden by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). We visited Dawyck Garden Cafe on Saturday morning. A very nice cafe with friendly staff.
We ordered bacon rolls and they were delicious. A north-facing hillside rising 850ft above sea level, wouldn’t normally be where you’d expect to find a botanic garden , but deep in the Tweed Valley hides one of the world’s most spectacular arboretums.
