Dean, 5woil is fine, Some white smoke at start up from cold engine is fairly normal and will dissipate (stop) for the most part after engine and exhaust has warmed up to operating temperature. If you notice you are low on coolant or having to add coolant then there could be an issue. In this case, bad seals or piston rings cause oil to leak into combustion chamber which then mixes with fuel and burns. The result is a white or light bluish smoke that comes out from exhaust manifold. White smoke can be a big problem or not, depending on the thickness.
The white smoke is the result of normal condensation which builds up inside the exhaust system. One cause of white smoke from the exhaust might be the engine leaking coolant. If the engine leaks coolant, it will be burned by the heat of the engine and then come out as smoke from the exhaust. A problem with antifreeze might also be causing white smoke to come from the exhaust.
But it is always a good idea to keep an eye on your oil and coolant levels on any car, smoke or no smoke. Even in a hot and humid climate, there will be some condensation in the exhaust system overnight. Thick white smoke from exhaust in the morning was created by pick89.
Mazda protege is blowing a lot of white smoke out of the exhaust when I start it in the morning and after work. So pretty much whenever it has been standing for a while. Cars on a cold morning in the winter are going to generate a white vapor. This ordinarily goes away once the car engine is warm.
If the white smoke still keeps coming out after the engine is nice and warm something may be wrong. There may be problems with the engine block,. If you’re certain it’s smoke then you likely have weak or worn valve guides.
Dear Karim, you need to observe the colour of your the smoke. The oil burns away , white (blue) smoke ,. It would be wise to also confirm whether the exhaust continues to bellow a lot of smoke even when your engine attains the normal running temperature above degrees centigrade. Your car must produce smoke as a byproduct of the engine combustion process (burning of the fuel air mixture). White exhaust smoke from your car, depending on when you see it, can be extremely serious or it can mean almost nothing. If you only see it when you first start the car in the early morning when the temperature is low, you have nothing to worry about.
Water condenses in the intake, and engine and when you firsts start the engine it burns off producing a puff of. In the early stages of head gasket failure, one may notice white smoke when they start their car in the morning but the smoke clears after a few minutes. This is so because when the head gasket or the valve stem seals leak, they allow coolant to flow into the combustion chambers, perhaps overnight as the car is parked and it’s then burnt and comes out as white smoke. Is the white smoke relate to the check engine light on, but t he smoke usually happen in the morning , the engine is so quiet,.
I am very much confused as my mechanic said thats its no issue as every car in morning gives a white blow smoke. I know car engine weeks if it blows a blue smoke. My suggestion would be check if there is any water (or) coolant entering into the combustion chamber or exhaust port. If the problem is a leaking head-gasket cylinder you will see white smoke , because the faulty gasket is allowing air and fuel to enter the cooling system.
As this mixture burns, white smoke is produced and exits through your tailpipe. In the afternoon when the temperature of the air climbs above 15C nothing can be seen. And I am not seeing much of smoke behind the car when I drive. Once the car heats up it goes away.
If it is constant even after.
