Their eclectic music can be described as South African pop and their African-influenced dance music has won the. Mango Groove fans can expect to hear much loved. We would like to state clearly that the band is not booked or confirmed to perform at this event.


This is a picnic concert , so bring a blanket and a picnic basket. Alcoholic drinks are permitted. Regret no refunds are issued. Being the first time attending one of their concerts – I know, we have lived in Cape Town for how long and this year is the first time we attended – we didn’t know what to expect. Performing at this exquisite venue is something we always look forward to, and every time we are more and more blown away with the love and support we get at the show.


They have sold more than 1. South Africa alone, mostly with popular hits like Dance Some More, Special Star, Hometalk and Nice To See You. Defiantly bridging colour boundaries, it fuses the unique sounds of traditional African music such as kwela, marabi, mbube, swing and gumboot dancing with the powerful vocals of Claire Johnson and the distinct penny whistle. Also featured on the show will be the SA rock legend Arno Carstens.


There will be no designated smoking areas. The band has released six studio albums and have sold more than 1. The concerts see a series of top local and international musicians perform outdoors under a glorious sunset (and later in the evening, a sprinkle of stars). This was a pitch demo put together in two days for World War Z release.


With South African pop at its best, this feel good concert will have people on their feet and screaming for more. It consists of indigenous plants and trees planted in. The stage was bathed in reds, ambers, purples and blues as the sky changed from blue, to purple, to amber, to red. The air was sweet and the scent of mist lingered.

Tickets this year went for from R1which is not a lot to pay for these artists, making it quite an affordable option as well. Foo friends, family and famous flora are all on the bill. The series of concerts promote local talent and provide a platform within Cape Town’s own slice of heaven for visitors to soak up the last rays of the summer sun, sip their wine and indulge in good music. This location is world famous for its breath taking views, the diverse flora it displays, as well as being home to a variety bird species.

Pack your picnic blanket, a bottle of wine and some canapes and you’re A for Away. Concerts start 17hand end at 19h00. The group celebrate their 31st anniversary in the music industry this year and have kept inspiring South Africans of all ages with their timeless music and hope to do the same with their brand new album. Such is the prestige of appearing on this stage that many of the artists cite this as the highlight of their careers. Newcomers include The Soil and Barbara Hendricks and the SA National Youth Orchestra.

This local band has been a firm favourite since launching in the 90s. With a signature South African soun they can’t help but make you tap your foot along to the sound of penny whistles and big beats. Every year, these concerts are held on the concert lawn of the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens over the course of summer.
