Cadillac white smoke from exhaust

I picked up the car from the paint shop (got it completely repainted). When I started the car up, there was quite a bit of white smoke from the exhaust. I immediately pulled over, turned the car off and let it sit for a minute or two and drove it, it ran fine and no smoke on the freeway or at stoplights. If the exhaust smoke is white : Does the exhaust smoke quickly dissipate after leaving the tailpipe ? If so, it is probably the result of condensation building up within your car’s exhaust system.

White smoke. Does anyone know what this might be? One cause of white smoke from the exhaust might be the engine leaking coolant. If the engine leaks coolant , it will be burned by the heat of the engine and then come out as smoke from the exhaust. A problem with antifreeze might also be causing white smoke to come from the exhaust.


If you notice that your car is blowing white smoke. This will cause white smoke , along with the idle issue. Of course since then loads of new luxury automakers have come along and rained on Cadillac ’s parade.


But lately, Caddy’s been on a roll with the. Condensation can turn to vapor , providing what looks like white exhaust. But excessive white smoke likely means coolant is leaking into the engine combustion chambers.


You may commonly see white smoke coming from the exhaust on cooler days upon starting. IT only happens when going uphill and the transmission drops down to a lower gear to speed up. I first thought it might be a head gasket but my coolant level hasnt gone down at all for the last couple weeks that Ive noticed it.


I know theres been an odor coming from the exhaust for a while but I have yet to figure out what is caus. If the problem is a leaking head-gasket cylinder you will see white smoke , because the faulty gasket is allowing air and fuel to enter the cooling system. As this mixture burns, white smoke is produced and exits through your tailpipe. Black smoke or very dark smoke coming from the exhaust pipe.


A new fuel odor or drop in MPG that seems to be coming from the exhaust pipe. When the engine is again started the exhaust system will heat up evaporating the water causing steam. A cracked head may allow coolant to leak into one or more cylinders or into the combustion chamber of the engine. This is generally steam caused by condensation. Here are some of the most common things that cause it broken down by smoke thickness.


Keep in mind that some smoke is completely normal at times. When you fist start your vehicle (espescially in colder climates) white smoke is normal until the engine warms up. Our certified mobile mechanics come to you days a week between AM and PM. Mt car just started blowing white exhaust smoke when I start it. It goes away after a couple of minutes. It has thet sweet maple smell so I think it is coolant. The check engine light has been on for the last 30mile but it is only in the last weeks I have noticed the smoke.


That would indicate a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder. I have always checked the coolant every two weeks. The coolant or antifreeze would be. There are a few reasons why white smoke clouds could be emitting from your Cruze’s exhaust pipe, or the exhaust of any other vehicle. A common concern is that the headgasket is causing the problem.


When this happens, you can help determine the issue by placing a sheet of paper behind your exhaust while also revving the engine slightly. I dont think your vehicle should have that issue, I honestly don’t remember if your vehicle has a vacuum transmission module.
