Henarathgoda Botanical Garden is one of the six botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The botanical garden is situated in Gampaha-Minuwangoda main roa approximately 4m away from Gampaha railway station. During our last visit months ago, work had started on a purpose built building to house orchids an months later, the building is still not finished.
The total area of the garden is about acres and it is more than 1years old. The garden is divided into two segments- the orchid garden and the Japanese garden. Paddy fields and Attanagalu Oya border it. Gampaha Henerathgoda is one of the few botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The distance from Colombo is miles.

Due to the tropical climate in Gampaha, arid pockets can be found in the Garden. Henerathgoda Botanical Garden is situated in Gampaha, only minutes drive from Gampaha town. It is about a kilometer from Colombo.
