5 9 Cummins white smoke acceleration

White smoke pours out my tailpipe on acceleration (load). If I adjust the star wheel will that cure white smoke ? Cummins white smoke problem - Dodge Cummins. If the exhaust smells almost like bug spray, it is unburned fuel. Sometimes when it is col the truck sputters and blows white smoke , and it takes a few minutes to clear out. Can dirty injectors cause white smoke on a cummins 5. I have white smoke and rough idle.

Every now and then it seams to stall for just a second at take off. I put a straight pipe on my cummins it seems that if the temp is below degrees and I dont let it warm up quite enough it will lose a lot of power and shoot a lot of white smoke when I try to accelerate. I let off but Im just wondering what could be the cause of this. A brand new diesel engine running at full load will experience a little bit of blow-by upon startup.

Blow-by is a condition where diesel fuel, air and vapor are pushed past the rings into the crankcase of the engine. This is usually the last color of smoke you want to see, particularly on gas cars. If the smoke is thin, and goes away relatively quickly, than it is merely condensation.

However, thicker, longer lasting smoke is a much larger headache. Your engine is more than likely burning coolant. K, lots of white smoke at start up, and continues to fog as you drive, if you back off going down a hill, it really blows out the smoke when you accelerate again.

Smoking does not go away when warmed up, embarrassing at stop lights. Truck was let go back to the credit union from the man who bought it originally from the dealer. He said he didnt want the truck because they wouldnt fix the problem with it.

Excessive smoke from exhaust! I do not believe your white smoke is oil but fuel from your VP4 I heard this same story (and had it happen to me) too many times. You may be loosing oil in the form of a leak but the white smoke your talking about sounds more like fuel which leads me to believe your VPis saying bye bye. Basically, smoke from a diesel engine indicates that something is not right. It should be taken as an indication that there is a problem existing (or developing), that will potentially shorten the engine life, or result in unnecessary costs.

Diesel Smoke tells YOU a Story. They smoked on start-up and for minutes after until broker shut them off. Is this true with your experience? Lasts about mins pretty rough runninh until warmed up then seems to run great. I was thinking injectors, but the balance rates on the predator are all within spec.

Coolant level stays the same. They do not completely stop spraying fuel when they are OFF. Col hot or upside down. If its smokin, its broken is the motto. I think you may have the DPF and the DOC exhaust system needs looked at.

Since this is a boat and marine diesel forum, an white smoke seems to come with the territory, I’ll first start by giving you about twenty years of personal experience with white smoke. Replacement Injectors. If the smoke clears in less than minute, this would be normal depending on temperature and altitude.

Blue white smoke that burns your eyes, is un-burnt fuel, cold temperatures, high altitude and excessive idle time all mean cold combustion.
