Auburn botanical gardens cherry blossom festival 2018

Auburn Botanic Gardens is one of the most popular places in Sydney to view beautiful cherry blossoms. So get in quick for your chance to travel to Japan. As one of the biggest local events of the year, the festival attracts visitors from all over Sydney. Being Sunday and a nice sunny day it was very crowded but still worth while. Take photos under a sky of pink, snack on Japanese foo beat a drum and watch sumo wrestling.


Please do not pick flowers, climb trees, or walk in the planted beds. Folding chairs are not permitted. Cosplayers take note: Real or realistic weapons, oversized props, or props made of hard materials (e.g., woo Plexiglas, metal) will not be allowed inside the Garden.

Last year’s festivities welcomed more than 90people to the Botanic Gardens for the largest. For one special night only, Dr Suess’ beloved Grinch will help us remember the true meaning of Christmas. At this year’s festival you can expect foo beer and wine, picnicking, performances, guided tours, self-guided tours of the blossoms, crafts and activities for the kids, and enjoying the Garden. Sakura Matsuri, the annual cherry blossom festival at BBG, offers nearly events and performances that celebrate traditional and contemporary Japanese culture. Cherry Blossoms in bloom at Auburn Botanical Gardens. Plus lots more, including kids activities! So what is there to eat and do there?


We were anticipating a large number of visitors so we arrived early, about 8am, just to make sure we have a parking space. It’s spring time here in Sydney! While waiting for the garden to open, we first had our breakfast at the park.
