Car shakes and white smoke coming from exhaust

The most noticeable symptom of internal coolant leakage is when the white smoke is billowing out of the exhaust pipe and leaves a sweet odor in the air. If white smoke continues to come out of your exhaust while the car is running, there are other issues at fault. One cause of white smoke from the exhaust might be the engine leaking coolant. One of two conditions is responsible for white smoke blowing out of your exhaust. First is normal condition (so you don’t have to panic ) and the second is a not so normal condition which should be fixed as soon as possible.

Generally, it is suggested to take your car to mechanic or technician if you experience any smoke from car’s exhaust , but white smoke that we are discussing here could not necessarily be because of any malfunctioning. This is nothing but steam caused due to condensation. As the engine warms up after a few minutes, this white smoke will not be reduced because condensation is dissipated. White smoke can be a big problem or not, depending on the thickness. The white smoke is the result of normal condensation which builds up inside the exhaust system.

This would foul the plugs which would account for the shaking (misfires). Sometimes it is just a question of how long the smoke is emitting. Cars on a cold morning in the winter are going to generate a white vapor.

This ordinarily goes away once the car engine is warm. If the white smoke still keeps coming out after the engine is nice and warm something may be wrong. Q: My car is smoking out the back and shaking.

Depending on what kind of smoke will determine what the shaking could be. There are basic types of smoke. Black smoke is raw fuel. Raw or unburnt fuel can foul spark plugs causing.

Pay attention to what it needs to ensure more miles for your vehicle. When the engine is again started the exhaust system will heat up evaporating the water causing steam. Some white exhaust smoke is normal, especially when you first start the car.

Condensation can turn to vapor, providing what looks like white exhaust. But excessive white smoke likely means coolant is leaking into the engine combustion chambers. Good luck with the outcome!

Blue or gray smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. Your mechanic can perform a simple chemical test at the radiator to verify that. The catalytic converter turns hydrocarbon gases to carbon dioxide and water in the exhaust system. This water often condenses in the muffler and exhaust pipes. When you start the car , the engine heats up, and these water droplets are emitted as white smoke.

When white smoke is spewing from your exhaust , it is usually an indication that something is burning. The typical culprit is a burning fluid from the vehicle, but other causes are possible. A backyard mechanic can diagnose the problem by observing and smelling the smoke. Locating where it is coming from and accessing.

This often causes the oil to enter the exhaust pipe. The pipe is hot while the car is running and you may get a strong smell, sometimes white smoke from exhaust pipe. Oil leaking problems cause burning smell from car. It’s a common phenomenon while driving uphill when you have to rev the engine more. If your engine puffs out an occasional stream of white smoke , it could be steam coming from your coolant overflow tank.

Leaking and burning transmission fluid and power steering fluid will also create a cloud of smoke similar to an engine oil leak, but with a slightly more chemical aroma. However, as with the other colours discussed. So, as the title says I´m getting smoke from the engine bay.

Not only that, the car shakes when the engine is on. It´s not leaking anything, I´ve checked the idiotic headgasket and had it replaced but the problem remains. The crankshaft is fine and the pistons too, I dont remember hearing any weird sounds prior to the smoke. I´ve also checked the carb and exhaust just incase but have found.

Asked in Emissions and Exhaust Systems. How To Fix Blue Smoke From Exhaust. As blue smoke coming out of exhaust can be caused by some of the reasons mentioned above, so to get rid of blue smoke , you should find the cause and fix it immediately.
