2 Stroke white smoke exhaust

White smoke from the exhaust of any internal combustion engine is cause for concern. In an outboar though, it may mean something other than a tow to shore and an expensive repair. On a 4-Stroke (usually Honda) the smoke typically blows out of the crankcase vent rather than the exhaust pipe. I took my bike into a shop to have them replace the oil seals between the water pump and crankcase on the right side and now when I start it a bunch of white smoke is coming out.

It was not this white before I took it in. I removed the spark plug and it did have some oil on it. It’ll smoke the most on start up and when you first start out. Time for a oil change if it does. Yes this smoke is normal in cold start for strokes , though the idling is a bit on higher side but in cold start it is needed.

As the engine warms up the smoke would reduce, so dont worry ride safe and enjoy. Remove ads, support ADV. I adjusted the carb on both the HL screws to 1. This is because the two stroke engine have back up oil which normally enters the fuel chamber to lubricate the piston. Some carb adjustments and it ran real nice and no more overflow or exhaust liquids. Next day, without any changes, the exhaust smoke is too heavy and white.

What could cause that? I know white smoke is burnt oil, but I’ve never had a 2stroke before so can’t assess what’s normal. Sometimes it is ba but there are certain instances where you can see white smoke , due to an overheat issue. Dealing with an outboard engine that is using seawater to cool it down, if there is a clog somewhere in the cooling system, the engine can heat up and turn the cooling water into vapor. The dreadful white smoke ! Smoke coming from a motorcycle exhaust indicates the engine is not running correctly.

Typical problems include fuel not being completely burne too much oil or coolant evaporating. If ignore such problems can result in significant engine damage, and being able to identify the origin of the smoke , as quickly as. Does it happen at all temperatures and speeds? I replaced both o-rings on the cylinder head and it is still smoking.

I have a 30hp -cycle Evinrude outboard. Is it a new or an old motorcycle? White smoke is produced from oil in the combustion chamber, or possibly water or coolant. White smoke that is like vapor and disappears soon could majorly be because of condensation. Steam is emitted by condensation in exhaust pipe which is seen at exhaust emission.

That is a common problem with two strokes. This means the oil injection system is pumping two much oil into the cylinder and crankcase. Carefully put your hand or a. I used alot of OMC carbon guard and Seafoam at the same time and the gas in the tank is over year old.

Doing a compresion check and the color of the plugs will tell you alot as to the trouble.
