Craftsman lawn mower smokes startup

I had this same issue last year and was told I needed a new head gasket which I did have replaced. This is all fairly easy to do and is great DIY project to save some money on repairs. When I went to start it tonight to cut my lawn , it has white smoke coming from the muffler and some oil is dripping from the muffler. Is that correct and if so, how do I clean it.

I assume oil got into the muffler.
