White smoke from harley exhaust

Causes of White Smoke from the Exhaust pipe. White smoke , as mentioned above, can either be very light just like vapor and secondly, it can be dense as well as heavy smoke. White smoke from the exhaust pipe on startup, idle or acceleration is telling us that there is coolant or water that is getting vaporized. On cold winter days, it is common to see white smoke from exhaust pipe as soon as you start the car.

This is nothing but steam caused due to condensation. As the engine warms up after a few minutes, this white smoke will not be reduced because condensation is dissipated. The white smoke from the exhaust means that the engine oil is leaking into the combustion chamber where the petrol burns.

Hence the engine is now burning engine oil along with petrol. The burning engine oil produces a white smoke. I bike has been sitting for the last two years. I changed the oil and started it.

I get normal exhaust from the rear cylinder but I get puffs of white smoke from the front cylinder. When I shut the bike off I get a trail of white smoke from that cylinder. The plugs are black and slighty. This will cause white smoke , along with the idle issue.

If it is below degrees Fahrenheit , then white smoke is perfectly normal until the engine warms up. If it continues after the engine is warm, then there is a source of excess water somewhere in the engine. Moisture causes white smoke A lean condition will not be discernable through the exhaust Smoke from oil is heavy. This gets seriously hot, and oil will smoke quickly if you get some on the pipe near the heads. If not that, could something else have gotten on the pipe?

What does white smoke from motorcycle exhaust mean? Why is there white smoke coming out of my exhaust? White smoke will be released when even small amounts of coolant enter the combustion chamber. If this is the cause, then the exhaust smoke may come with a sweet smell. There may also be a low level of coolant reserve.

You may commonly see white smoke coming from the exhaust on cooler days upon starting. Here are of the most common causes of a car blowing white smoke from the exhaust pipe. Condensation Burn Off. If you notice white smoke coming from your muffler, don’t automatically assume the worst.

Not likely if you have an air-cooled bike. It could also mean that you are running in a cold climate, if the temp is around or less I would call this normal. The combination of the coolant and engine oil will create a milky appearance in the smoke. All it takes is for just a little bit of coolant to get into the combustion chamber for white smoke to be produced.

I have in the past month had my EVO motor rebuilt. Once the build was complete I noticed white smoke coming from the exhaust The buil Weisco Piston and rigs. You will ofen notice a sweet smell to the exhaust.

Other indications are air in the coolant system and possible drops of oil in the coolant. Most coolant leaks into the combustion chamber are from the head gasket.
