Breaking in the engine seats piston rings and burns off residual oil that may have coated. Does it still smoke white after getting good and warm? My experience has been that white smoke = moisture in one form or another.
Sometimes it can just be condensation in the engine and exhaust system but will usually clear up as the engine and components warm up to dry out the moisture. Please comment on what you think it is. We just used a service kit on it (it came with oil, fuel, and air filters, spark plugs, and quarts of oil.) Any comments are greatly. I have it serviced every year.
I went to mow the back yard last week, it started fine, but as soon as I engaged the mower deck, or put a load on it, heavy white smoke started coming out of it. As soon as I disengage the mower blades, the white smoke quits. What would cause this? At first I thought white smoke means anti-freeze.
Also, got the tractor up to temperature and checked to see if there was any bubbles in the radiator. White Smoke from exhaust? JOHN DEERE 6 it runs but will it ever stop smoking? These unburned fuel droplets are exhausted as a white smoke. It is acceptable for all but the most modern diesels to experience white smoke at startup.
But this should disappear after the engine warms up. Usually, white smoke indicates that the diesel fuel is not burning correctly. Unburned diesel fuel will make its way through the exhaust completely unused. The cause could be a rupture in the breathing tube, which channels air from the combustion chamber to the exhaust port. The white smoke is the engine burning off all the excess oil.
The fix - drain the excessive oil, and idle the engine until the smoke clears. This may take minutes or so. Depending on your mower type, draining the oil can be a pain in the ass. I got this Briggs and Stratton oil extractor, on Amazon, makes life soooo easy. Have never had a problem with it always ran great, now white smoke and will not stay running, dies out the more gas i give it.
John Deere L 1with the hp Kohler engine and 2hours. When warm, engine runs fine and if I restart while its warm,-no white smoke. Blue or white smoke coming from your engine usually indicates burning oil, which can be caused by: Overfilling the crankcase with oil. It recently started blowing large amounts of white smoke out the exhaust then dying.
After it dies I notice white smoke in the intake as well (but it does not come out while the mower is running). It takes a few minutes after I clean out the carb for the smoke to start and the mower to die. If water gets into the fuel or oil could that cause white smoke to come from the exhaust ? I was having problems getting mower to start.
Got another battery and replaced the plug which was all black. It started and blew out a lot of white smoke and oil is spewing from the exhaust. One of the exhaust manifold bolts was broken and oil was coming out there also.
I checked the oil level and. Took the GX3out the other day and played in the snow, all of a sudden it started to blow smoke out the exhaust. Lasted for about seconds or so, just long enough for me to get nervous, then it quit smoking and went back to normal. My Honda engine on a Toro motor suddenly started billowing white oily smelling smoke out of the muffler.
I shut it down, and let it sit for a while. Recently it began spitting oil droplets from the exhaust.
