Christmas at the Botanics As night falls, join us at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh for our magical, botanical and festive illuminated trail. A one mile illuminated trail that winds its way through the garden. Wander beneath the tree canopies bathed in seasonal colour, enjoy the sounds of the Choir of the Trees and keep an eye out for Santa and his elves.
With Christmas just around the corner, the Euan’s Guide team decided to take a festive trip to Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh for their Christmas event. I have wanted to go each year and now in it’s third three, I am thrilled I was able to make it along last night. The highly-anticipated return of this after-dark festive extravaganza will see the Garden transformed with several new awe-inspiring attractions for visitors to enjoy.
A mile long magical trail winding through the gardens passing illuminated plants and buildings. Jack Frost and Santa also had their. This year’s event is bigger and brighter than before, with over one million twinkling lights, offering a unique experience for visitors.
The magical, botanical, illuminated trail! It runs until Sunday 29th December with time slots from 4:40pm to 8pm. Adult tickets cost £17.

Wear your Christmas sweaters for pictures with Santa. Other activities include writing and sending your letter to Santa, making reindeer foo and more holiday crafts. Admission is $per person. Basically, it is a series of light shows around the gardens only a few minutes from the centre of Edinburgh’s world-famous Princes Street.
However, that description does not do justice to the experience. OK, it is weather dependent. It’s the most wonderful time of the year as the tree tops of Edinburgh begin to glisten and shimmer.
