Christmas at the Botanics As night falls, join us at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh for our magical, botanical and festive illuminated trail. Plus no Botanics trail would be complete without the Inverleith House Festive Finale where brightly coloured projections dance in time to much-loved Christmas classics. Look out for Santa and his elves along the way too. Such a stunning event and perfect to get into the festive spirit.

The mile-long, after-dark trail will weave through the historic buildings and horticultural features of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Basically, it is a series of light shows around the gardens only a few minutes from the centre of Edinburgh’s world-famous Princes Street. However, that description does not do justice to the experience.
OK, it is weather dependent. I have wanted to go each year and now in it’s third three, I am thrilled I was able to make it along last night. BIGGER, better and brighter than ever Christmas At The Botanics is back with more than one million dazzling lights and we have been given an exclusive look at what families can expect. We were lucky enough to go the Botanics at Night Christmas event this week which was a truly magical evening and I can not recommend it highly enough. I have been visiting these gardens regularly since I was a child and they remain one of my favourite places. The gardens are beautifully managed and even at the height of Summer never feel crowded. The Botanic Christmas Lights path follows a designated route past installations and illuminations, with all the unfamiliar sights and sounds of the garden at night.
A Dazzling Winter Trail of Light. Entry is by ticket only and visitors are being advised. The exhibition runs nightly through Jan. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. In addition to unlimited complimentary daytime admission and other valuable perks throughout the year, Garden members enjoy $off each ticket for nearly every ticket type during Garden Lights, Holiday Nights.
A host of events, including visits from Santa and carol singing, are certain to get visitors in the festive mood. Parents and children are invited to come and meet Santa when he visits the Garden. Botanic Garden is a member of both American Public Gardens Association and Botanic Gardens Conservation International, professional organizations for the field of public horticulture.
