It has Started to misfire in the mornings (or when its cold) Also there is quite alot of white smoke. After about minutes of idling or when it gets warm, the misfire stops and the smoke clears up. White or grey smoke from exhaust on start. Was contemplating on changing the rings of the engine.


Its a used car I just bought. I top oil every time the car spits the white. Have smelt the smoke and its a mixture or water vapor and little gas. Glow plugs checked using multimeter - ok.


Jaguar X - Type Problem 2. Idle rough but once warmed up all ok. On cold morning hardly working no throttle response. I have a jaguar X - type 2. Could be a blown head gasket.


Also see if you have coolant running out of tail pipe. Sometimes an engine can emit a fine mist of unburned fuel that seems like white smoke. Clearly your engine is burning some engine oil. Perhaps the valve stem oil seals are failing. Headgasket would mix oil with water or use water or overheat engine.


I disconnect the power supply to injector it runs on cylinders but when I disconnect injector power supply it doesnt alter the running of the engine. Thread: x type diesel smoke on cold start up for seconds. I first start it in the morning it starts to smoke and smells real bad of diesel this only lasts for about seconds or so then stops. It seems to run reasonably well other than that other than a slight reported loss of power but no fault codes stored. EGR valve, glow plugs and intake manifold seals.

DEXCOOL can eat metal parts like head gaskets over time. White smoke from tail pipe normally means you are burning coolant. When the exhaust pipes gets hot, it will cause the water to boil and evaporate. The white - smoke in this case is steam.


However, if you get white smoke during the day during normal driving,. TDCI glow plug light flashing, limp mode and cutting out. Fault finding and repair - Duration: 52:20.

Unfortunately it gets sooted up which then gives out black smoke. Diesel Misfire - Ghost fault! Id get lots of white smoke on start up and black smoke when accelerating hard. No power loss and acceleration fine.


Black smoke on heavy acceleration, sometimes worse than others, ie. When travelling at constant speed or idling no smoke is apparent. How it all started : - Car just cut out on me without warning.
